Listen to me and the Deedle Deedle Dees on the radio this weekend
Two of my favorite family radio shows are featuring my music this weekend. Tune in if you can!
Saturday morning at 9am EST I'm guest deejaying the Hilltown Family Variety Show and spinning tunes on the theme of "playing a character." I'll be playing a few songs from the new Deedle Deedle Dees record as well as a lot of other great stuff. The show is on WXOJ 103.3 if you live in Western MA, but anywhere else you can hear it online at valleyfreeradio.org.
Then Sunday at 6pm Central, Bill Childs is going to include a few Deedle Deedle Dees tracks in his Halloween installment of Spare the Rock Spoil the Child. He's going to play songs related to his daughter Ella's many amazing costumes over the years. She's dressed as a wide range of progressive, world-changing and I have songs about many of them! Emma Goldman, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Susan B. Anthony are among those who will make musical appearances. You can hear Spare the Rock on KUTX 98.9 at 6pm Central if you're in Austin, TX. This is a syndicated show so there are also many other stations and times across the country. Check their website, sparetherock.com, for more info.

The Deedle Deedle Dees' new album comes out TODAY!
The Deedle Deedle Dees' first album in five years comes out TODAY, September 29th. The Deedle Deedle Dees are my long-running educational rock band.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thedeedledeedledees3
The album is called Sing-a-long History, Vol II: The Rocket Went Up! It's the second installment in my Sing-a-long History series, a collection of albums that tell stories from history using music. The first volume, Sing-a-long History, Vol I: Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!, came out last year. It's an introduction to the Civil War era featuring me backed up by a raucous jazz band performing songs from the 1800s as well as original tunes inspired by stories of the time.
Sing-a-long History, Vol II: The Rocket Went Up! is a record of all original songs drawn from the history of science, discovery, and magic. The title track celebrates female astronauts. There are songs about marathon swimmer Diana Nyad, computer programmer Ada Lovelace, Charles Darwin, and Harry Houdini. And all sorts of other stories in song that we can't wait for you to hear.
You can buy the album right now here. You can also find it on iTunes and other download services.
Brooklyn CD release concert: October 22nd at Jalopy Theatre and School of Music at 3pm.

Daily videos + streaming sing-a-longs this summer
Today, I posted video #7 of my Summer of Song. Every day I'm going to put up a different song every day until Labor Day on this YouTube playlist. Thanks, everybody, who's been watching and commenting!
I'm also going to be doing live streaming sing-a-longs. I did a bunch of test ones this past week and this upcoming one I'm going to try to do some regularly scheduled live sing-a-longs. Here are the times:
Tuesdays at ~ 10:30 / 11
Fridays at ~ 10 / 10:30
Why are the times not exact? Well, my schedule and wireless connections aren't consistent this summer so I have to keep my start times approximate due to all the variables related to these things.
You can find the sing-a-longs on my Facebook page. Give my page a "Like" and you'll be notified every time I go live (in addition to the scheduled sing-a-longs, sometimes I go live impromptu).
Please spread the word about all of this and send me your requests! You can e-mail me at lloydhmiller AT gmail, comment or DM me on FB, or shout at me on Twitter.

Only one sing-a-long this Thanksgiving week
Tuesday's 10am sing at Nunu Chocolates Cafe & Tap Room is my only one this week. Wednesday at Elk, Thursday at Dean Street, and Friday at Lark are all canceled due to the Thanksgiving break.
I'll be back at all my regular sing-a-longs next week. And Saturday, December 5th, is my next Sing-a-long History event at Brooklyn Historical Society. It's a holiday sing-a-long featuring Christmas carols, Hanukkah songs, tunes from Lebanon, Kenya, and France, and new songs inspired by your holiday stories. Go to my PERFORMANCES page for more details on this show.

No Knitting Factory Sing-a-long Weds, July 15
No sing-a-long tomorrow, Weds, July 15. The sing on Friday, July 17th will happen as usual. Wednesday sings will resume Weds, July 22.
In case you didn't know: all my sing-a-longs are being covered by wonderful friends of mine during July and August. I'll return to all / most of my regular events in September. I always add or subtract an event or two each fall.
Missing me?
- Check out my YouTube channel. I'm always putting new videos up there.
- Set up a live video singalong with me via FaceTime, Tango, Skype, or another medium of futuristic communication. Only $25 for a 25-minute sing-a-long. Invite some friends over for an all-request Lloyd show.
- Listen to my new podcast. Sing-a-long History with Lloyd H. Miller is on iTunes as of last week. It's mostly for older kids (elementary and up), parents, and educators, but I know kids of all ages are already listening. I think you'll like it. I play songs from songs from my albums, play other songs live, and get deep into the stories behind the songs I sing.
See you soon!
