Yes, I do teach instrument lessons. Here's what I offer:
- Acoustic or electric guitar (all levels)
- Electric bass (all levels)
- Beginning upright bass
- Beginning ukulele
- Beginning banjo
I design a course of study based on you or your child's needs and goals. With some students, I do a song-based study where we learn chords, notes, fingering, and theory via songs they want to learn how to play. With other students I do a very traditional music-reading curriculum that focuses more on classical and traditional pieces. More often than not, though, I combine these approaches, spending part of our lesson time learning how to play singable songs, the other part reading music and learning theory.
Rate: $60 for a 45-minute lesson. Materials are extra.
I don't teach piano but my brilliant bandmate in the Deedle Deedle Dees, Chris Johnson, does. He also teaches uke, banjo, and electric bass.
For mandolin lessons, there's no better teacher than another Deedle Deedle Dee, Ari Dolegowski. He also teaches guitar.
If you want Chris or Ari's contact info or to ask me more about my lessons, write me at thedeedledeedledees AT yahoo DOT com.
